BWMA’s Broomhill Studio project Awarded Aberdeen Society of Architects Commendation Award at the 2023 ASA Awards Dinner.
We are very pleased to share that our Broomhill Studio was awarded a commendation in the small projects category at the awards ceremony, March 2023.
A great evening, with lots of local (and some further afield) architecture awarded and celebrated.

An enjoyable evening not just because of our award but we were joined by project contributor Sam Johnston of Escocia Design and Engineering (Structural Engineer) and had a chance to catch up with friends new and old.
Office dogs not so impressed!!

How many architects does it take to open a bottle of beer…

BM and Finlay Conner of Fiddes Architects combining their many years of education and practice to open a challenging beer bottle top…with a spoon…
We drew on distant memories of structural engineering lectures, steel in tension vs compression and assessing potential shear loads on said spoon.
It was a twist cap…
A team effort:
We feel our Broomhill project really was a team effort, and it would not have been possible without all consultants / contributors, creative photographer (Carlton photography), a meticulous main contractor in Deeside Timber Crafts, their suppliers during continuing supply hurdles, their sub-contractors involved….but above all,
Our very trusting and delightful clients, Ross and Nicola.
Ross and Nicola are long time clients of BWMA and we very much look forward to sharing the next phase of works that BWMA, Escocia and Deeside Timber Crafts have been working on for them.
The brief for this project as described during one of our client meetings
“More of the same please!”
Fingers crossed… and we will be sure to share the finished project images and a few Carlton Specials
Cheers,
BWMA
